Te Rangipai spent 15 years in the health and well-being industry before moving into education where he specialised in supporting rangatahi transition from secondary school into further education, training and employment. He was integral in the growth of the WellingtonTrades Academy during his 9 years at Wellington Institute of Technology before moving to the Ministry of Education, where he continues to advocate for improved outcomes for rangatahi Māori.
During his time at the Ministry, Te Rangipai has played key roles in forming and supporting the Greater Wellington Regional Skills Leadership Group, implementation of the Regional Public Service framework, development of Regional Leadership Impact Group priorities and is currently Manager Planning and Advice for the region, holding portfolios such as Māori Education and Secondary Transitions.
Through supporting the team through its implementation of Te Matarau a Māui, Te Rangipai is looking forward to identifying, building and growing opportunities for rangatahi Māori to engage and thrive in the local Māori Economy.
