Trevor has worked extensively to promote Māori and indigenous development in governance, operation, and policy making. His leadership experience across the public service, private sector and Iwi includes roles in Te Reo Māori revitalisation, in Wānanga, education, international indigenous networks and trade, Māori broadcasting, Māori business, Iwi and economic development. He has previously held the position of Co-Chair of WINHEC- World Indigenous Higher Education Consortium.
Trevor is currently Poutiaki – Director Te Ao Māori Strategy and Performance at the New Zealand Treasury, a role focused on building Māori capability and leading across Crown-Māori engagement and relationships including leading work in tax trade investment capital the Māori Economy regional development and policy. He is committed to making contributions of significance and actively supports Crown-Māori partnerships and collaborations.
A key advisor, steward strategist and thinker Trevor is a trusted sounding board and holds a range of key leadership relationships here in Wellington and across Aotearoa in business, iwi and across parts of Crown and private sector teams. Through his other service roles on a small number of Māori trusts and commercially via the Ngāti Kahungunu Assets Holding Group he with others, enable the means to achieve and enact kaitiakitanga, manaakitanga and whanaungatanga. These roles also allow building people, possibilities, creativity, capability, culture and connections – all keys and potent builders for intergenerational Māori success.
