Matarau Rautaki features 4-6 strategic wānanga per year hosted across different rohe, supported by digital outputs and collaborative follow-ups. Events include expert panel discussions, Māori-led innovation showcases, and knowledge papers that distil key provocations and strategic insights. Post-event content is shared via Te Matarau’s digital platform, growing a library of Māori thought leadership in innovation.

Led by Te Matarau a Māui, the series provides a space for Māori entrepreneurs, digital creatives, kaupapa-based leaders and changemakers to explore, co-design, and activate new ideas that shape the future of Māori enterprise and economic development.

Each event dives into a strategic theme, from artificial intelligence and climate adaptation to kaupapa capital, rangatahi leadership, and procurement equity. With a deliberate focus on systems thinking and intergenerational impact, Matarau Rautaki builds momentum for region-wide transformation grounded in whakapapa, kaupapa tuku iho, and Māori values of leadership and collaboration.
